14 October 2006

Well, it's odd when you realise that you show the same tendancies as your pet.

I was doing my usual bank run at work, and as I was heading back to the office, I passed through the courtyard that's behind our building. I noticed that there were a couple of Asian kids and an older guy kicking a footy (AFL-style) around. I passed them, keeping a wary eye out just in case I was in danger of getting hit by the ball. The older guy called out a couple of times before I realised he was calling me. I stopped and turned around. He called "Catch this!" and threw the ball at me. I watched the ball sail past me, thinking "I'm expected to catch that?" And after it had landed and cries of despair rose up from the guy behind me I carried on my way back to the office.

Holly has exactly the same sort of habit - you throw a ball, she watches the ball sail past, then looks at you as if to say "Well, you threw it, what do you want me to do about it?"

And some odd spots:
* A zebra is white with black stripes.
* You're more likely to be killed by a champagne cork than by a spider.
* A crocodile can't stick out its tongue.
* A snail can sleep for three years.
* There are more than twice as many kangaroos as people in Australia.
