I've just received via email confirmation that I've entered the AKWF Competition. After a bit of sweet-talking by one of the other entrants from our Academy, we're now elligible to get a State Championship Title by doing our tai chi form and both sword and sabre forms. It's a tad nerve-wracking.
Apparently there's over 75 people participating in the competiton. Apparently there are also a number of events which don't have enough entrants. Which means that a number of events and/or age divisions may end up getting merged. I don't know how that'd go for scoring and placings, though. After all, it states that the top three people in a group of four or more will be awarded medals, top two people in a group of three, top person if only two people competing, and only a gold medal awarded if only one person is competing in an event.
I also had one of the instructors on Sunday get annoyed with those of us who are entering the competition, as none of us had approached him for advice, since he has apparently entered the most competitions in the Academy, and even had special competition training. Sometimes, I think he gets a tad too full of his own sense of self-importance. None of us actually rose to the bait and asked him any questions.
Oh, and I also checked the paperwork of that client, and no, I'm imagining things. I've not come across the AKWF people before. Or at least I've not done so at work.

Yay, go Smerk!
I hope it all goes well for you. Make sure you get someone to take photos for us!
All right! Good luck. We're all pulling for you.
And if you need any competition advice don't hesitate to ask...
...that instructor guy. ;-) Hehehe.
Good luck Smerk... impress the heck out of 'em!
Hurrah! You can do it! There may be 75 other people competing, after all, but I doubt that many of them are as cute as you. So there!
You seem to know your tai-chi quite well, so all you really have to watch out for is lack of confidence. That, and accidentally beheading somebody with your swords.
Oh, and heed Nettie's orders about the pictures. ;-)
Hey! I didn't know you had a blogger blog now!
*gets to reading all the back posts*
