My parents decided to go outside and give the plants a bit of a watering. Dad went to stick his finger into one of the pot plant wells to see how damp it was and discovered this, instead:
We're pretty sure it's a motorbike frog. If it is, then this little critter has been lurking around our backyard for a couple of months now. There's a sound-bite on that page, so you can hear why it's called a motorbike frog. Only thing you can't tell is how loud it is.
Anyhow, Dad ended up watering the plant whos pot the frog is lurking in. Ten minutes later, after getting nicely wet, the frog decided to stick his head out.He looks a very happy froggy. I don't think I'll need to teach him how to gallumph, though.

Cute and funny post. I don't think any frogs would like being out in our plants right now.
maybe frogcicles... ...
Too bad, there you almost had free froglegs for Christmas dinner :-p
44 C, that's friggin' hot...
111º? Now that's some short-sleeve weather. Ahhhh....
He's so cute. What are you naming him?
Yes, they can be bloody loud can't they. Butt they're awesome photos sweetie!
Chary, hadn't really thought about naming him, but Freddo springs to mind...
Freddo the frog? Is that some odd Aussie thing?
It does have a nice ring to it, though. I'm sure he'll be happy with the name. :)
Guess it is an odd Aussie thing, Chary.
We have the Freddo chocolate bars here too. They're nice, but far, far too small... ;-)
