So, here are some photos for your enjoyment, instead. These aren't exactly new photos, but have been lurking on my computer for some time.
This is the first photo I took with my (then) new camera (Olympus C350, for those camera geeks out there). It's (obviously) a rose - Birmingham Post, to be precise, taken one morning in our back yard. I can't remember if the water droplets were the result of dew, or of the sprinklers having been on earlier.
Again, taken in my back yard, this is a lovely picture of a weed growing through the brick paving, being attacked by a fuzzy caterpillar, commonly known as spitfires here. These caterpillars later metamorphose into tiger moths.
And another fuzzy caterpillar, commonly known as the Decapitated Caterpillar or Kevin for short. This picture isn't really the best for showing off his body colour, which is a lovely purply burgandy colour, with light blue feet...yes, the colouring was meant to reflect the team colours of the Aston Villa Football Club.

Kevin was actually part of a project for a Childcare studies class back in TAFE. We had to create a game or a number of objects enough for five kids. I produced five different hand puppets which all the lecturers loved. including a cat, dog, duck, octopus and Kevin. Sadly, I don't have any photos of the other puppets, and ended up passing them all on to one of my friends when I dropped out of the child care course. I have no idea whether she still has them or not, since she's now moved on to doing a psychology degree instead.
Now, I'm sure you're all wondering why the strange name for the caterpillar. Well, again, not that you can see it in the picture, but Kevin doesn't have a tail. So somehow, in my class at TAFE, that equated to him being decapitated. Besides, saying "decapitated caterpillar" quickly over and over again was fun. And he got called Kevin after a certain someone I may or may not have had a crush on at the time...
*cough*
(darn cold)
So, that should keep a few people happy for now. And maybe I'll trawl through some of my other photos and post them, as well. Or go out and take new pictures!

Nice rose!
Yay for pictures!
Kevin is so cute!
Hope that cold clears away soon love and I hope you didn't catch the flu off anyone at my party...I had a great time by the way, it was great to catch up! Let's not make it another ten months before we do it again...
Pretty flower...
kewl caterpillars.
You make plushies? I'd love to see some others!! :)
I see you have some talent with a camera as well. Between you, Neo and LaMa, I really want to get ahold of a camera again.
Sorry, Carlotta. I don't really make plushies. They were really a one-off. And sadly, I really don't think I have photos of the others made.
Well, I think maybe you should make plushies, as you clearly have a talent for it ;)
She can make some plush dragons, perhaps, to keep herself amused at work!
And once again, Smerkling dear, I am in awe of your photographic skills. Now if we could just get you to turn those skills upon yourself a bit more often. . . ;-)
And who is this Kevin person?!? Eh?!? Eh?!?!?
I love flower photos, thanks.
